about

The Jazz Trumpet record

Bobby Shew says about "The Bridge"
' I had not heard of Larry Williams prior to a buzz going around about some "new student on campus". Then, at a recent gig where I sat next to Larry in a section, I was immediately amazed at his playing. His energy was on full max all night playing both lead and solos.
As a trumpet player he has amazing control of the instrument from top to bottom. As a soloist he can stand next to anyone on the current scene and hold his own.
Since receiving this cd, I have listened to it over and over again, it is tremendous! AND, I found out he is a superb composer/arranger as well. His tunes on this cd are each one very special, well thought out pieces that draw the listener deep inside the music. The sidemen all perform beautifully as well.
Congratulations Larry, on this marvelous cd. I'll buy a box to send out to my friends'
