about

DOGG MANSION

I started the Dogg Mansion (though under a different name) concept over thirty years ago in the late Eighties with a handful of my favorite Orlando players, featuring a horn section I played and recorded with regularly. In fact, playing together was our main gig, so we got to know each other musically as well as personally.

Fast forward to 2004. Los Angeles, California. After a long dormancy, the band re-emerged as Dogg Mansion the West Coast version.

Music has evolved in the last several decades to be sure. Trends will always come and go, but the message of Dogg Mansion has remained the same throughout its tenure.
The truth is It's not for everyone. It's totally and politically incorrect for today and that's what I love about it.

So put this album on in your car, go sit somewhere and turn it up.
That's right.
To eleven.
It's gonna kick your ass. And it will be the best ass-whoopin' you'll ever love.

How did we get that name? Well,
"ONCE UPON A TIME" while on a gig at a very swank & spacious house somewhere in the estates of Beverly Hills, I and a fellow band mate during a break took a stroll around the grounds to marvel how the "other side" lives, when suddenly in our peripheral we spot four rather large dogs spilling out of their kennel into their own fenced off yard to play.
Though they took no notice of us, we couldn't help but notice the enormous house they had just bounded out of.
My friend looks at me and gasps, "Man that is some dog house!"
I replied, "THAT is NO dog house, that's a dog mansion".
True Story.
